Bompai Microfinance Bank Limited was among the 37 Microfinance Banks established by Kano State Government in 2013. The Bank was licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in January 2014, to operate as a unit Microfinance Bank in Nassarawa Local government of Kano state. It is charged with the responsibility of providing among others: Financial inclusion (to the unbanked), extending financial services to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the society.
The share capital of the Bank was N20,000,000.00 as required by the CBN for the operation of a unite Microfinance Bank. It has the composition of the following personel as Board of Directors: Alhaji Usaini Baba A.U Chairman, Alhaji Rabiu Ibrahim Director, Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Director, Alhaji Lamin Sani Director, Hajiya Rakiya Ibrahim Director and Usman Muhammad MD/CEO who was later replaced by Zubairu Adamu Musa.
Early 2015 the State Government take over the microfinance from the consultant and established Kano state Microfinance Agency that is charged with the Supervising and monitoring the activities of the banks under the abled leadership of Dr Rabiu Maikano as Chairman Board KASMA and Alhaji Nasiru Mansur as The Director General of the Agency. The Agency immediately make a critical analysis of the bank and start preparation for participation in the CBN MSMEDF where 2 billion Naira was applied.
Middle of 2015 The Agency after looking at the banks decided to warehouse the assets and liabilities including Staff, customers of defunct Dala Building Society to Bompai Microfinance Bank Limited after seeking for approval from the CBN.
In the year 2016 Kano state Government in order to make the banks stronger change the Board and MD/CEO of the banks. Alhaji Usaini Baba Chairman, Alhaji Sani Ahmad Turaki Vice Chairman, Alhaji Mahmud Garba Sagagi Director, Hajiya Aisha Halilu Director, Alhaji Lamin Sani Directors, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad Director and Muhammad Lawal Usman MD/CEO (who took over from an acting MD Rahila Abubakar) after which the state Government granted Bompai Microfinance Bank N56,200,000.00 for on lending to over 1000 of its customers under the CBN MSMEDF.
From inception to date Bompai microfinance bank was able to disbursed over N89 million Naira to more than 3500 of its customer and our customers base is 5765 ,
