Andavelo House is a centuries old beautifully restored six-suite patrician house set in the old town of Lamu, Kenya. Karibu sana!
Andavelo is an approximately 300-year old patrician townhouse in Lamu’s old town, situated in the historic Kivndoni area of town, overlooking the Swahili House Museum. In 2009, Andavelo undertook a three-year restoration process, utilizing traditional building techniques and local artisans to retain the structural and aesthetic charm of the historical property, while incorporating new, luxurious finishing, including a refreshing plunge pool in the rear courtyard.

The furnishings throughout the house are exquisite and unique, including antique pieces from central Asia, the Caucasus, India, Africa, and from Lamu island itself, with signature hand-carved mahogany four-post beds.

Andavelo offers guests half board and full board options, serving haute cuisine prepared with the freshest ingredients available, including seasonal catches from the Indian Ocean along with abundance of fresh fruits and herbs grown locally.
