Atwima Mponua Rural Bank was established in 1984. The idea of establishing the Bank was initially mooted by Mr. Patrick Kofi Owusu of Toase, one of the founders who was inspired by Nana Kwame Owusu, then Board Chairman of Kwamanman Rural Bank Limited. There were other founders namely Mr. A.E.K Antwi, Mr. B.K Amankwa, Nana Opoku Kwabena and Nana Ofori Acheampong (Ankobeahene of Toase) who embraced the idea and supported financially through registration and floatation of shares.
