The Chagoury Group acquired Niger Delta Flour Mills Limited in 2001, adding another strategic unit to the Company’s stable of flour mills throughout West Africa. About 18km from Onitsha on the Onitsh-Enugu Expressway, the Niger Delta Mill is centrally located near to the major centres of Nigeria and beyond. Onitsha itself is the largest flour market in the eastern part of Nigeria. The mill’s output is 400 metric tonnes per day. The mill produces wheat flour, semolina and wheat bran. The wheat bran is sold for animal feed. Lion Flour is registered with the National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

The mill is a modern manufacturing plant employing a large local Nigerian staff. The machinery and equipment for the mill were designed and installed by Henry Simon Ltd of Stockport, England, one of the world’s renowned industrial equipment manufacturers.

The staff of the company, as all employees of the Chagoury group, has access to quality healthcare, including a staff clinic on site. Other health care services are provided through the company’s locally retained health clinic.
