ESAN Microfinance Bank Nigeria is a fully owned Nigerian Bank that was incorporated on the 5th April 1992 as a Community Bank by Late Chief F.A. Ijewere, which was later converted to now Esan Microfinance Bank Limited in February 2008, and licensed with the sole objective of providing financial services to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and other clients in the lower income cadre by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Our Authorized Share Capital is presently twice the amount required by the Central Bank issued and fully paid.

The Bank commenced operation on the 4th of August 1992 at our corporate head office located at Central Road, Ubiaja, beside High Court of Justice, Edo State. The business was conceived after a thorough analytical review and study of our immediate environment- Ubiaja and other parts of Edo State in general. The targeted customers include the petty traders, small shop owners, trade associations, artisans, taxi drivers, market men & women, low level civil servants, tailors, barbers etc.
