Kingfisher Safaris Resort started in a quite unusual way: having the Bugungu prisoners digging the main pool… but somehow it is typical for this hotel.
The Vision we have, is to run a private “business”, benefiting the local community and give international residents the opportunity to be in a relaxed and friendly environment.
We also want to meet the need of the Ugandans since affordable places to come for them are rare. Most hotels are expensive (for example the 5-star hotels) or are back packers’ hotels, where one would not desire his children to stay.
Kingfisher Safari Resort is working and cooperating with the local people. The whole corporation is based on community work. Focus is, that the community should benefit. We are going to areas without establishments and we get our workers amongst the local people. We support and train them to become self reliant and we give advice and a helping hand in difficult circumstances.
