Werner Nefdt is the owner and optometrist at Neovision in Woodstock and the V&A Waterfront where he practices developmental optometry. He completed his optometry degree with diagnostic privileges at the University of Johannesburg in 2011 and has since been a member of the Graduate Institute of Optometry and an associate of the College of Optometrists in vision development and College of Syntonics in the USA.
He enjoys helping kids and adults who present with eye teaming, eye focusing and eye movement disorders. Many different challenges arise when a person’s visual skills are not well developed ranging from frequent headaches, poor reading ability, poor coordination or clumsiness, low self-esteem and poor academic/work performance. Werner uses specific lens technologies in conjunction with the latest in vision therapy techniques to promote visual performance in people of all ages.
His practice was the first eye care facility in Africa to be granted the license to make use of the pioneering vision therapy system, Binovi from Eyecarrot.
Werner also enjoys helping people with various corneal conditions with specialized scleral contact lenses when conventional spectacles and soft contact lenses do not work effectively.
In his time away from his practice, he loves spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, playing tennis and doing yoga daily.
