In Nigeria, PSI designs solutions with girls and women to meet their needs for sexual and reproductive healthcare and works to make self-care products available directly to consumers.

In 1985, PSI and several prominent Nigerians founded the Society for Family Health Nigeria (SFH Nigeria), which has now become one of Nigeria’s largest non-governmental organizations. SFH Nigeria was founded with the mission of helping Nigerians, particularly the poor and vulnerable, to lead healthier lives.

In 2018, PSI opened its PSI Nigeria office to implement the Women’s Health Project, which increases access to safe abortion and long-acting reversible contraceptives through innovative interventions in both the public and private sectors.
