PRUDENTIAL CO-OPERATIVE MICROFINANCE BANK LIMITED was incorporated in November, 1994 as Ikpe Annang Community Bank Limited and was later converted to Ikpe Annang Micro Finance Bank Limited in 2006 and now Prudential Co-operative Microfinance Bank.  The bank was incorporated as a private Limited Liability company on 22nd November, 1994 with registration number Rc: 258100, received a provisional license number 3932 to render community banking services by the National Board of Community Banks (NBCB) on 7th April, 1994 and thereafter commissioned for business.  A final license number 100296 was issued by the central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on 25th May,2004.

The bank in accordance with the provision of Central Bank of Nigeria renders financial services to the economically active poor, low income earners, etc.  This is also in line with the federal government initial object of setting up microfinance bank which aimed at bringing banking services closer to the rural areas.

Our Philosophy is to develop and utilize indigenous available resources (both human and natural) to attain sustainable economic growth and development amongst the rural people and moreso making banking services accessible to the active poor.

Prudential Co-operative Microfinance bank Limited started as Ikpe Annang Community Bank Limited and over the years has underwent a lot of transformation.  The bank has over the years engaged in the recapitalization of her capital requirement by the CBN above the minimum requirement and has also upgraded its board and management staff by bringing in experienced banking, accounting and law personnels.  There has been an unprecedented growth of the organization in terms of her operations as it has Twenty (20) branches all over the state.

The bank also recognizes the fact that her staff is an indispensable resource in offering quality services to her esteemed customers. Therefore, developing an attractive Career Path as well as embarking on Staff Training to equip them for effective and efficient dispensing of their duties.

Prudential Co-operative Microfinance Bank Ltd. Has authorized and paid-up share capital of N200 million and N180,000,000 respectively as at October 31, 2014 and the balance sheet position of over N600 million.

On July 01, 2014, the bank recorded a milestone as Central Bank of Nigeria granted the bank the status of a State Microfinance Bank, meaning that the bank can establish branches in any part of the state.

Prudential Co-operative Microfinance Bank Ltd. is undoubtedly the oldest and biggest MFB in term of spread and customer base. Recently, Akwa Ibom State Government has selected the bank to partner in the management and disbursement of CBN Micro, Small, and Medium Scale Enterprise development fund.
