Un ensemble de propri\u00e9t\u00e9s inhabituelles en font un sujet intrigant pour les scientifiques, ainsi qu\u2019une source potentielle de danger et de prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 pour les millions de personnes vivant \u00e0 proximit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Pourtant, il contient une bombe \u00e0 retardement : ses eaux contiennent d\u2019importantes quantit\u00e9s de m\u00e9thane et de dioxyde de carbone issues de milliers d\u2019ann\u00e9es d\u2019activit\u00e9 volcanique. Une \u00e9ruption limnique provoquerait une explosion de gaz et mettrait en danger la vie de millions de personnes.<\/p>\n<p>C\u2019est ce que nous appelons un lac tueur, nous avons trois lacs de ce type dans le monde ; deux au Cameroun qui ont fait \u00e9ruption dans les ann\u00e9es 80 et ce lac (le lac Kivu).
