Football fans have taken to social media to react after the FECAFOOT president claims it is possible for an African nation to reach the semifinal stage of a FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n
In the history of the global showpiece, Africa’s best performance has been to reach in the quarterfinal stage.<\/p>\n
Ghana was the last team to reach the last eight of the Mundial, which dates back to when the competition was held in South Africa in 2010.<\/p>\n
Eto\u2019o said, as per Football Ghana:<\/p>\n
“First of all I feel at home, and I don’t need a reason to be back home.
\n“However, I came with our brothers from Qatar for our national teams to get the best possible information so that they give us the best results and why not? Win the world cup for us.\u201d

How Eto\u2019o was welcomed in Ghana
\nMeanwhile, Samuel Eto’o, arrived in Ghana to work on his role as ambassador for the 2022 World Cup.<\/p>\n
The former Barcelona forward touched down on Thursday with his entourage ahead of his meetings with stakeholders of football in Ghana.<\/p>\n
The 41-year-old will meet the Ghana Football Association officials to talk about how the Black Stars can get a good tournament in Qatar.<\/p>\n
Eto’o demands more respect for Okocha
