The song was produced by Victor Enlisted and is largely inspired by the Fari\u2019s background in geology and neatly employs terms that are derived from her field of work. Sung in her native Shona language, \u2018Pieces\u2019 is accompanied by guitar, percussion instruments, keys, and harmonies that will warm the hearts of listeners.<\/p>\n
The 25 year old described the song as an African ballad, which would no doubt become the soundtrack of every love story.<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2018Pieces\u2019 is a love song about a love that is difficult to attain but worth it in the end,\u201d Fari told Music In Africa. \u201cThat\u2019s really the main theme. I composed the song from my own experiences or the way I am. Someone who can be hard to read and hard to know. Someone who very few people can truly claim to know. Some of the lyrics were added recently, particularly the Shona ones.<\/p>\n
\u201cAgain, they are inspired by my emotions at the time of composition. I seek to let my song out into the universe. Have someone listen to something I have created and be touched. I seek to establish myself as an artist.\u201d<\/p>\n
A follow-up EP or album is still on the table for Fari. \u201cI would call this a debut single. My version of jumping into the deep end and seeing if I can swim. If I swim, then more music will be coming.\u201d<\/p>\n
Born Farirai Manonose, Fari has been writing songs, stories and poetry since primary school. Afrobeats, Afrosoul, and R&B are some of her musical inspirations, with her greatest desire being to revive Zimbabwe\u2019s urban grooves music with a modern twist.
