Nigeria\u2019s President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Morocco for becoming the first African team to reach the semi-final stage of a FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n
Against all odds, the Atlas Lions knocked Portugal out of the tournament 1-0 to book a place in the last four of the tournament, being held in Qatar.<\/p>\n
Two days after this historic feat, Buhari released a statement congratulating Morocco\u2019s ruler, King Mohammed VI on his country\u2019s historic milestone.
\nMorocco has made the entire continent proud with their dexterity, reviving hope that an African team can indeed win, and should win the ongoing global championship in Qatar.\u201d
\nThe statement included Buhari’s congratulations to the North Africans and their leader on making history, becoming the fourth African team to reach this penultimate stage of the World Cup tournament.<\/p>\n
According to the Nigerian President, the Atlas Lions\u2019 skill and teamwork could not have been achieved without the exemplary role of the Moroccan authorities in putting together a formidable team.<\/p>\n
Okocha hypes Morocco vs France
