The new W&D facility is spread over 10,000 square metres and has an additional open yard space of 3,500 square metres.<\/p>\n
The facility has over 85 per cent area covered with racking providing for 7,000 pallet locations.<\/p>\n
The warehouse is located with access to the strategic Belcon rail siding at under 5 kilometres, and it is 22 kilometres from the Port of Cape Town. It has nearby connectivity to N1 and N2 highways as well as close proximity to Cape Town International Airport.<\/p>\n
According to Maersk, the rail siding will enable reliable, faster, cost-efficient, and greener access into\/out of the port, bypassing traffic, and port gate congestion.<\/p>\n
Maersk\u2019s new W&D facility in Cape Town will link the end-to-end supply chain management for the customers\u2019 cargo from origin to destination.<\/p>\n
With complete data integration into its Warehouse Management System (WMS), customers will be allowed clear visibility of their cargo\u2019s movement and better inventory management.<\/p>\n
