Mr Eazi participated in a panel discussion on the theme \u201cAfrica: Next Frontier for the Creative Economy\u201d with Mo Abudu, CEO of EbonyLife Group; Hannah O\u2019Leary, vice president of contemporary African art at Sotheby\u2019s; Prince Jacon Osinachi, AfrofutureDAO co-founder; and Laolu Senbanjo, a visual artist.<\/p>\n
He noted that African music is the next frontier for developing and stimulating the regional creative economy during the 2023 Milken Global Conference in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
The discussion, moderated by Aubrey Hruby, a co-founder of Tofino Capital, addressed and explored the opportunities that Africa\u2019s digital and creative economies have to offer in the art, film, and music sectors.<\/p>\n
Hruby opened the discussion by noting that the size of the African market in the creative industries is growing so rapidly that it is expected to create 20 million jobs by 2050.<\/p>\n
However, Mr Eazi added that one of the challenges in the African music industry is equity participation in terms of investment and infrastructure, and noted that intellectual property is one way to create an orange economy for the African music industry.<\/p>\n
