On July 22 and 23, Brooklyn\u2019s Hillel Plaza at Flatbush\/Nostrand Junction will be hosting the fourth edition of the African Pop-up Festival.<\/p>\n
The annual event is part of African Restaurant Week, a citywide food festival that celebrates African cuisine and culture.<\/p>\n
Each year, the African Pop-up Festival brings together small businesses, local talents, and artisans in an effort to connect them with the community.<\/p>\n
The African Popup Festival is about creating a space where people can come together and experience the magic of music, art, and community. The festival is designed to inspire positive change and champion small business,\u201d said Akin Akinsanya, festival organizer.<\/p>\n
The African Pop-up Festival will play host to a wide range of live entertainment, including numerous cultural performances, dancing, a DJ, and much more.<\/p>\n
The festival will also be offering a marketplace, where visitors can check out various deals and giveaways courtesy of the several local vendors and artisans in-attendance.<\/p>\n
Attendees of this year\u2019s African Pop-up Festival should definitely come hungry, as the event will be featuring food tastings by various talented chefs from across the diaspora (Africa, Caribbean, and African-American), according to the event website.<\/p>\n
Additionally, there will also be a chef contest, where attendees can taste delicious dishes and vote for their favorites, with the winning chef earning a cash prize of $250.<\/p>\n
