Formerly known as Music for Development, the Music For Good Award honours musicians using their songs or music videos to address social problems.<\/p>\n
To be eligible, submissions must have been released between 1 January and 31 December 2021. All submissions must be sent via email to in**@gh**************.c<\/span>om<\/span>(link sends e-mail).<\/p>\n The submission deadline is 15 April.<\/p>\n Last year, singer Yaa Yaa won the award with \u2018Mmusuo\u2019, a record tackling taboo subjects in Ghanaian society while calling for people to be considerate in their actions toward others.<\/p>\n This year\u2019s VGMAs are expected to be held in May, with Kuami Eugene and KiDi leading the nominations with 16 and eight nods, respectively, followed by fast-rising star Black Sherif with eight. The musicians are also up for the Artist of the Year category alongside King Promise, Sarkodie and Joe Mettle.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, as part of activities heralding the main VGMAs ceremony this year, organisers kicked off the 2022 VGMA in Schools initiative in St Mary\u2019s Senior High School in Accra last week.
