The Nakawa based side won the title on May 20th when they drew goalless with second placed Kampala Queens FC. The two teams finished with 39 points each, although She Corporate had a better goal difference.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a dream come true. Our players have worked really hard to win this title which was decided on the last day,\u201d says She Corporate FC coach Hassan Issa Yusuf.<\/p>\n
He made it clear that winning 11 matches and losing only one out of the 18 matches played did not come easy. \u201cI want to thank the players for the hard work and management of the team for playing their part,\u201d added Coach Issa Hassan.<\/p>\n
The coach made it clear that they will now shift their focus on preparing for the regional CAF Women\u2019s Champions League qualifiers to take place in Tanzania.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know qualifying for the Champions League qualifiers is one step, but we want to prepare well so that we can compete for that one place to make it to the African tournament,\u201d says the coach.<\/p>\n
Favour Nambatya, one of She Corporate FC strikers says winning the League title did not come by chance, but because of good team work.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have belief in ourselves and worked hard as a team to be able to achieve our set goal,\u201d added Nambatya.<\/p>\n
The technical Director of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), Ali Mwebe says that they are happy with the level of competition in the Women\u2019s League this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe League was very competitive and getting the champions on the last day also shows that the level of competition was high,\u201d added Mwebe.<\/p>\n
She Corporate\u2019s Phiona Nabbumba and Daphine Nyayenga were also voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Best goalkeeper respectively. Lady Doves FC striker Fazila Ikwaput was the top scorer with 15 goals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
