Milton Shumba and Sikandar Raza took seven wickets between them as Zimbabwe XI sealed a stunning 62-run victory.
South Africa A have already clinched the five-match T20 series with Zimbabwe’s win taking it to 3-1 ahead of Tuesday’s final T20.
After being set a target of 136 for victory, Khaya Zondo (18) and captain, Heinrich Klaasen (14) were the only ones to manage scores in the double figures as the Proteas were skittled out for just 73 in 16 overs.
Shumba took a four for 15, while Raza added an impressive 3/18 as the hosts trotted to victory with four overs to spare.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Zimbabwe were reeling at 40/5 when a partnership between Milton Shumba and Ryan Burl formed.
Gerald Coetzee and Glenton Stuurman led the South African attack, taking 4/19 and 2/26 respectively.
Shumba and Burl both scored 41 runs for the hosts with Wessley Madhevere (23) and Richmond Mutumbami (10) as they posted 135/9.
The fifth and final match will be played at the same venue on Tuesday.
