2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers Postponed Until Next Year Because of 2022 FIFA World Cup Preparations

There will not be any 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for the rest of this year. According to a report, the fixtures set for September have been postponed until next March, allowing teams that have qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be better prepared for the campaign in Qatar. Senegal, Ghana, Morocco, Cameroon and Tunisia will do battle in the Middle East between November and December.

“The postponement of the Cup of Nations offered an opportunity to reschedule the remaining qualifying matches. It also makes it possible to open the dates in September to international friendly matches for preparation for the World Cup.”
