There are 22 bright rooms with en suite bathrooms that open onto shady courtyards overflowing with flowers and shrubs. A short walk from the rooms there’s a small raised pool with wooden deck and views of the desert — it’s an excellent spot to soak up some sun.
The lodge has a unique dining room decorated with old motor cars and an innovative bar both covered in road trip memorabilia. Outside, there are tillers, wheels, signposts and a place for tying up horses — it’s very original and arty. Guests are invited to visit the onsite Fish River Canyon information center. The Roadhouse is an hour’s drive from the Ai Ais Hot Springs and well located for the viewpoint. It is also possible to enjoy some gentle rambles straight from the lodge.
