Shop Specializing In African Culture Opens New Columbia Location

Must Read

The store takes its name from the ancient Egyptian goddess of love, peace and motherhood.
The Wrights originally owned an African-themed shop in Northeast Columbia but then moved their business to Columbia’s Greenview area near North Main Street where they both grew up. The new Northside Plaza location, also in the Greenview neighborhood, allows for more retail and event space.

The shop sells a wide variety of health and beauty products, as well as African art including masks and statues and African clothing. The Wrights also offer a wide selection of oils, incense, candles, crystals and jewelry, much of it handmade.

House of Hathor also hosts a variety of community arts and cultural events, including poetry readings and educational workshops.

House of Hathor is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, call (803) 741-8090.
