If you like birding, the nature sanctuary is a great spot if you get there early or late afternoon. But don’t expect to see many birds in the middle of the day.
There’s wildlife around the sanctuary, but you’re most likely to see vervet monkeys, bushbucks or crocodiles. The big draw is the 200 species of birds you have a much better chance of spotting.
The sanctuary has a small, modest natural history museum next to the ticket office, which is worth a quick look.
And if you’d like to hire a guide, ask at the ticket office, inside the museum.
